This Sri Lanka influencer itinerary follows the route of the July 2026 creator tour. It runs from Negombo through Dambulla, Pasikudah, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Ella, Yala and Galle to Colombo. The creators covered it in twelve days. For a holiday, allow fifteen, so each stop gets at least one full day.
The creator route, explained
In July 2026 the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau hosted creators on a twelve-day tour. Its official announcement lists Negombo, Dambulla, Pasikudah, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Ella, Yala, Galle and Colombo. Our guide to Sri Lanka Tourism’s influencer programme covers the earlier tours too.
The route visits the east coast and the south coast on one trip. That gives variety on camera, but the two coasts have opposite seasons. Read the season section before you book.
A fifteen-day version at a holiday pace
Negombo
Rest near the airport. Film the fishing boats and lagoon in late-afternoon light.
Dambulla and Sigiriya
Visit the Dambulla cave temple and climb Sigiriya early. For the classic view of the rock itself, climb nearby Pidurangala at sunrise. Follow the photo rules in our temple etiquette guide inside the caves.
Pasikudah
Shallow, calm water close to shore makes Pasikudah one of the east coast’s easiest swimming beaches in season. Plan a slow day with no driving.
Kandy
See the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, Kandy Lake and the Royal Botanical Gardens at Peradeniya.
Nuwara Eliya
Drive up through tea estates with a factory visit. Ask permission before photographing tea pluckers at work.
Train to Ella
Ride the hill-country train from Nanu Oya to Ella, then visit the Nine Arch Bridge and Little Adam’s Peak. Do not lean out of the open doors for photos. Reserve seats through Sri Lanka Railways.
Yala
Join a jeep safari. Keep to the jeep, keep noise down and never ask the driver to crowd an animal for a shot.
Galle
Walk the Galle Fort ramparts at sunset and explore the old streets early, before day visitors arrive.
Colombo and departure
Spend a few hours in Colombo, then transfer to the airport. For a late flight, the city makes a good last stop.
Which month suits this route?
Seasonal guidance checked 6 October 2026: the official Sri Lanka Tourism climate guide describes May to September as the best period for the east coast. It describes December to February as peak season on the southwest coast.
| Travel months | What to change |
|---|---|
| May–September | Keep Pasikudah. Treat Galle as a town visit rather than a beach stay. |
| December–March | Drop Pasikudah and add two nights on the south coast at Mirissa or Tangalle. |
| April, October, November | Showers are possible on both coasts. Keep beach and boat days flexible. |
If you only have ten days
Cut Pasikudah and Nuwara Eliya, and take the train from Kandy instead. That leaves Negombo, Sigiriya, Kandy, Ella, Yala and Galle. The result is close to our 14-day Sri Lanka itinerary, shortened.

Influencer itinerary questions
What route did the influencers take in Sri Lanka?
The July 2026 creator tour hosted by the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau visited Negombo, Dambulla, Pasikudah, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Ella, Yala, Galle and Colombo over twelve days, according to the official announcement.
How many days do I need to follow the influencer route?
Allow about fifteen days for the full route at a holiday pace. Twelve days is possible but means a new hotel almost every night. With ten days, drop Pasikudah and Nuwara Eliya and take the train from Kandy.
Can I visit Pasikudah and Galle on the same trip?
Yes, but one coast will be outside its main season. Pasikudah is at its best from May to September, and the south coast from December to March. Choose which beach matters more and treat the other as a short visit.
